Mushin is a state of mind, a quality of one's spirit after refinement. When one has freed themselves from fear, doubt, hesitation and surprise, when they have shed their anger and their ego,  when their mind is empty of meandering thoughts so that they are in harmony with their surroundings, they have achieved Mushin.

Mushinkan or "House of the Empty Mind" is a traditional Japanese dojo located in South Buffalo, NY training both Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu and Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. Starting in 2003 as Quest Jujitsu, Mushinkan is committed to the pursuit of mushin through the spirit of shugyo (austere practice) and kokua (mutual help and benefit).
